The Nature Center Hike & Run is held annually to benefit the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes and the Jenny Goldman Outreach Fund. Jenny was a young naturalist dedicated to teaching children, especially inner-city youth, about the joys of nature. She died in a car accident in 2004. The Jenny Goldman Outreach Fund helps provide education and experiences in nature to underserved urban youth from Cleveland.

Adults $15 pre-register by TBA, $20 after TBA T-Shirt Included
Children $5 (age 12 & under/Scouts/Student Club members) T-shirts available for purchase day of event (while supplies last)
Family: $35 (No 5K entrants) Max 2 adults and 4 kids. Two t-shirts per $35 registration
Parking Parking is available on surrounding streets only. Please allow ample time for a short walk to the Nature Center parking lot for registration and start.

Race Features 5K Run
The course is run on both the road and trail along the scenic Shaker Lakes and the Nature Center habitats. Race managed by HMA Promotions.
12-Mile Doan Brook Gorge Hike
Our vigorous 12-mile hike, led by The Cleveland Hiking Club, will take us to Dike 14 on Lake Erie and back to the Nature Center.
1-Mile Pet Friendly Hike for Families
Hike along the Nature Center trails through the forest, marsh and prairie. Pets must be leashed at all times.
4-Mile Doan Brook Gorge Hike
Hike along the Shaker Parklands and the scenic Doan Brook gorge. We'll explore the habitats, history and geology of this unique area called the Portage Escarpment, the beginnings of the Appalachian mountain range.
